Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) adherence is deeply engrained in VerseOne both culturally as well as practically, and how these three key elements intertwine is woven into the very fabric of the business.
Indeed the business was founded with the vision of making innovative use of technology to make a positive and meaningful impact to the lives of the people who rely on, as well as deliver services to people, via the NHS, Social Housing and other Care providers.
Environmental
The E in ESG focuses on the energy we take in and the waste we discharge and the resources we need generally to function as a business - not the least of which being carbon emissions and climate change. We are completely virtualised, have a clear mandate for digital communications and engagements, have a flexible 'working from home' policy and, as importantly, all our infrastructure is hosted on Microsoft's Azure platform.
Azure has committed to focus on four key areas of environmental impact to local communities-carbon, water, waste, and ecosystems.
- 100% renewable energy by 2025
- Water positive by 2030 - replenish more water than we consume by 2030
- Zero-waste - certification by 2030
- Net-zero - deforestation from new construction

Social
The S as already alluded to above is in VerseOne's DNA and something we hold very dear and do ensure everyone within the business is committed to and passionate about this important aspect of the ESG policy. We have been championing accessibility from the get go with a keen focus on baking in accessibilty checks and controls throughout our products and projects from the start. We have and pursue a clear and progressive diversity and inclusion policy (found below).
Our pricing policy is reflective of the sectors we serve and we support our customer's good causes through sponsorships. As well as this, we give back up to 5% of every new solution on a matched-funding basis, to our customers for supporting local, social and environmental projects/initiatives.
Finally we also have our Innovation Fund which supports great ideas for better supporting and making a positive difference to our customers who - after all - are in the social arena.
Governance
G, governance, is reflected by the clear, well-defined, communicated, and practiced procedures and controls, which in turn, are underpinned by automated systems to enforce and support these.
The commitment to this equally important aspect of ESG is evidenced by VerseOne's accreditation by globally respected and independent bodies such as the International Standards Organisation (ISO). For example, VerseOne has held ISO9001:2015 organisational processes and ISO 27001:2022 security standards for many years, and is independently audited to these standards on an annual basis.
In addition to these we annually renew our Cyber Essentials and NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit certifications, as well as having been recognised for Investors in People for since 2016.
As importantly, we adhere to internationally recognised Open standards so that all our customers have freedom of choice in terms of interoperation and integration, thus empowering our customers to deliver better value and higher quality services to their customers.
We also adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting rules and practices to ensure accurate, consistent, and transparent financial reporting.
