About the Alliance
Crisis launched the Alliance in September 2023, originally as the Homelessness Covenant, in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions and the housing ministry. Employers including Pret A Manger and Thames Water helped develop it alongside people with lived experience of homelessness, bringing together business perspectives and direct experience to shape practical action.
Allies commit to pledges in three areas: supporting local communities through fundraising, awareness, partnerships and volunteering; adopting fairer employment and recruitment practices for people affected by homelessness; and opening up jobs and training to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of it.
By its second anniversary in October 2025, more than 70 employers, together representing around 1.25 million staff, had signed up. Allies included Amazon, Lloyds Banking Group, Specsavers and Taylor Wimpey.
