If tenants are to be able to hold their landlords to account, they need information on how their landlord is performing.

The Social Housing Charter seeks to balance the relationship between HAs and tenants and build strong connections between them to ensure transparency and accountability. Landlords need to consider their tenants, at all times and define their purpose. It is also very important that the tenants voice is heard and that HAs improve all the time.

Join the VerseOne Social Housing team to explore how HAs are ensuring that they adhere to the Soical Housing Charter in terms of performance, accountability and transparency.

    Agenda

At this event, we’ll be covering some of the following:

    • How will a HA's perfomance be measured?

    • What areas will be measured?

    • What do you do with the results and how you can share the results to be transparent?

    • Tenant surveys - How often should you survey?

    • What measures do you initiate if you get a bad survey?

COVID-19, the scraping of Universal Credit uplift, furlough payments coming to an end and rising energy bills will all play a part in the increase in arrears.

Many RSLs are preparing themselves for an exponential growth in rent arrears during the coming months. A HouseMark survey showed a 30% increase in outstanding rent since March 2020, with the total figure standing at a record £1Bn. Forcasts have also indicated that arrears levels will not return to pre-pandemic levels until at least March 2022.

Join the VerseOne Social Housing Team to explore how HAs are planning for the increase in arrears and what plans they are putting in place to help tenants manage their arrears.

    Agenda

At this event, we’ll be covering some of the following:

    • How to help your tenants pay off their arrears

    • Offer a simple arrears calculator online and let them volunteer to pay off their balance.

    • Reducing arrears through a self-service option which is available 24 * 7

    • Reduce the administration burdon on your income team, for arrears under a specific value

    • Other methods that landlords are rolling out to help
