The Trust is responsible for services at Lewisham Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Greenwich, as well as a range of NHS community services in Lewisham and some services at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. When the two hospitals merged they need a new website to announce the newly formed organisation.
Lewisham and Greenwich wanted a website that could cater for the wide audience they catered for. The wanted a pallet that minimised the use of the NHS Blue. The key drivers was to make it obvious to a service user - which hospital delivers the specific service.
They opted for a contemporary, ‘flat’ design — a design with no shading or 3D effects, the teams at VerseOne and the Trust have collaborated to produce a site that reflects the strong intentions of the Trust, with clear navigation for both service users and clinicians.
To herald the recent creation of their organisation, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust set out to look for a supplier that could deliver an online presence that catered for the wide audience that it was intended for.
Taking a mobile first approach to their design meant some firm decisions about the calls to actions, when accessing on a smartphone - which gave more flexibility on larger devices and when adding content to the full screen.
