Last month’s Accessibility Focus event in Guildford saw the 1000th organisation participate in one of VerseOne’s free Web Accessibility morning briefings, since their inception in 2008. This was a true milestone moment in VerseOne’s mission to champion the issue of Web Accessibility.
The Accessibility Focus sessions aim to raise awareness and promote best around the key issue of Web Accessibility—including a breakdown of the latest legislation and guidance which in recent times means WCAG 2.0, BS8878 and the UK’s Equality Act 2010.

Over the course of the past two years, Wokingham Borough Council has made organisational development a key focus in its transformation strategy. When their intranet was identified by staff members as a source of frustration, the Council decided to transform this important internal communications system too, and chose VerseOne as its new intranet supplier.

When Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wanted to replace their five-year-old website with a new online service that would communicate their excellence, they began to investigate potential suppliers. After attending a Hot Topics in the NHS event, LTHTR's Communications team invited VerseOne to submit a proposal for the trust's new website and, following a rigorous procurement exercise, the trust board selected VerseOne as their new web solution provider.

With a website that was over five years old, North Hertfordshire Homes (NHH) knew that they needed to modernise their web presence, and a simple but eye-catching design was a key driver. As the largest provider of social housing in Hertfordshire, NHH wanted a fresh and modern online image that would also recognise the differing needs of the site's various users. Accordingly, NHH looked for a web provider with the necessary creative vision, but who would also work with them and take the time to understand their business. Following an intensive tender process, NHH felt VerseOne Technologies would provide this collaborative approach to the project, whilst also possessing the design credentials to revitalise the site.

On Tuesday, 20 March 2012, VerseOne's Housing Advisory Board gathered for its first meeting of the year in central London to discuss challenges and issues facing the UK housing sector. The Government's progressive policy to make housing associations truly independent will put pressure on housing associations to become more commercially orientated in order to develop services and generate income. Plans to create a universal benefit have the potential to make housing associations' income even more variable, as the DWP would no longer pay housing benefit directly to the landlord. Nevertheless, the Board members see opportunities in these policies to enhance service delivery in the community, and believe that the changes will help drive tenants to become more empowered, self-driven, and involved customers.

On Monday, 19 March 2012, VerseOne's NHS Advisory Board gathered for its first meeting of the year in central London to discuss challenges and issues facing the NHS as the debate on reforms abates and concerns about meeting savings targets take its place. Finding innovative ways to use technology to improve patient care and stakeholder engagement emerged as the key theme for the next few years in the NHS, and Board members were optimistic that the NHS is now ideally placed to take advantage of strategies "early-adopter" public sector organisations have developed to drive service delivery and communication through online channels.

Greenfields Community Housing needed a new web partner: not only did they feel their current system was dated and undervalued internally, it was also no longer being supported by their existing web provider. Exciting times are ahead for a number of residents in the Wycombe area, as the ownership and management of Wycombe District Council's housing stock has been transferred, resulting in the creation of a new tenant-led charitable housing organisation, Red Kite Community Housing. The establishment of a new organisation was accompanied by the need for the rapid creation of a new website, and Red Kite chose VerseOne Technologies to deliver tenant-focused functionality right on time.

The BTU Group provides a range of building services private and public sector organisations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing a prompt, efficient, reliable and courteous service, ensuring that customers’ requirements and provisions are met. BTU Group required a website that would reflect these aspirations whilst coherently promoting the various strands of the business; further, the company wanted to open up a new sales channel and inventory service through an online catalogue and e-commerce facility.

Due to popular demand, VerseOne have announced another round of their popular seminars for February 2010. VerseOne's latest round of seminars in November saw over 70 people accommodated in various hotels in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and London to attend a revamped seminar programme. The Building An Effective Website events emphasised that there are a number of aspects to undertaking a large content-managed website project but laid the emphasis on internal management—illustrated through VerseOne's Information Architecture process—and on ensuring that your audience can actually make use of the information being delivered, through attention to Web Accessibility.
